The Story of ELG Spirits
ELG Gin, our flagship product, was born from Henrik Elsner's deep knowledge of chemistry and passion for distilling. Combining scientific precision and an endless love for traditional methods, he creates spirits that are celebrated both nationally and internationally.
Each bottle is crafted with meticulous attention to detail – from the selection of raw ingredients to the distillation itself. The philosophy is simple: only the best natural ingredients make their way to the distillery, and each batch is carefully monitored.
From laboratory to distillery
Henrik Elsner — PhD in organic chemistry — founds the distillery by Esrum Lake in North Zealand. The starting point is not a business plan, but a question: what happens if you distill with the same precision as in a laboratory?
ELG Gin No. 1 wins Silver Outstanding at the IWSC in London — and a silver medal for its gin & tonic serving. It will be the first of many.
Brandy, apple brandy and sloe gin win silver at the IWSC. The distillery is no longer a gin house, but a distillery with a range of products.
ELG Gin Liqueur is awarded Gold Outstanding – IWSC's highest accolade, reserved for spirits in the 98-100 point band.
ELG Mono Botanical — gin distilled solely with juniper berries — wins gold. Sixteenth IWSC medal since 2016.

Henrik Elsner hold a PhD in organic chemistry from Copenhagen University.
